The project to promote and develop inbound tourism within the Kanto region has begun.
The Kanto region is home to major destinations that are frequented by tourists, such as Mount Fuji and Hakone, but it is our plan to breathe fresh life into these areas and present something new for tourists to experience.
Rather than superficial tourism that ends after taking a few pictures, we aim to find the special features of areas such as Chichibu, Hakone and Minobu that can be developed in order to provide tourists with unforgettable experiences.
By working alongside ‘National Geographic Traveller’ magazine, we will promote our project to the UK market. Through our collaboration with this market-leading magazine, we will be able to achieve a greater insight into the wants and interests of UK tourists, and the opportunities to better develop and market Japan as an inbound tourism destination will become clearer.
Chichibu, The Minobu Highway, Mount Fuji, Hakone…we are excited to see Japan’s hidden destinations enter the UK tourism market and receive the recognition that they deserve.
